The Laboratory of User Interaction and Software Engineerin: LOUISE.

Principal Investigator
Pascual González

The User Interaction and Software Engineering Laboratory (LOUISE) was created in 2000 and, since then, has focused its research activity within the field of Human-Computer interaction.

Currently, the laboratory is directed by Professor Pascual González, Professor of Computer Systems at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM, Albacete) and has a team of ten researchers attached to the UCLM.

The group’s lines of research are aligned with the Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) of Castilla-La Mancha, especially in the sectors of:

  • Bless you
  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)

The group is basically focused on the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to the development of systems. It applies the latest techniques, from Virtual Reality, Brain-Computer Interfaces or Gestural Interfaces, to the development of new generation interactive systems (Post-WIMP interfaces).

All this by applying rigorous Software Engineering processes to guarantee the quality of the systems developed. In recent years, the group has focused its efforts on the field of health, developing solutions that allow professionals to design new therapies in which ICT plays a fundamental role.
