The User Interaction and Software Engineering Laboratory (LoUISE), awarded with the “Best innovative contribution. Technology Symposium-Amazing Technologies” in Serbia.

 

Juan A. Sánchez Margallo, a researcher at the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Center (CCMIJU) in Cáceres, recently participated in the 33rd. international congress of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), held in Serbia.

During the event, he presented a work developed in collaboration with the User Interaction and Software Engineering Laboratory (LoUISE) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, attached to the Institute for Research in Computer Science of Albacete. This institute was founded and is directed by Professor Pascual González, from the Department of Computer Systems.

The project, entitled “Support and telementoring system for minimally invasive surgery based on augmented reality”, received the “Best Innovative Contribution – Technology Symposium: Amazing Technologies” award, in recognition of its innovative character and its impact in the field of surgery assisted by emerging technologies.

 

 

LoUISE is part of the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology Applied to Health in Castilla-La Mancha.

This recognition highlights the collaboration between both institutions in the development of information and communication technologies (ICT), applied to new therapies in the field of health.
