YOUNG RESEARCHERS FROM CASTILLA-LA MANCHA PRESENT THEIR RESULTS ON THERAPEUTIC NANOPARTICLES IN TOLEDO.

On September 6, the first scientific meeting of the Institute of Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Molecular Materials (INAMOL) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) was held in Toledo, attended by more than 50 scientists.

During the meeting, research staff in training – doctoral students and postdoctoral professionals-from the Femtoscience and Microscopy groups resolved in time, led by professor Abderrazzak Douhal, and from the UCLM-CSIC Neurodeath Associated Unit, directed by professor Valentín Ceña, presented the results of their scientific projects that will lead, for the vast majority of them, to the award of the doctorate degree.

The results presented covered both:

  • The characterization of nanoparticles with temporal resolution levels in the femtosecond range.
  • Such as the application of various nanoparticles as carriers of genetic material in the therapy of glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer with a very poor prognosis.

The scientific results presented are part of Line of Action 5: “Development of nanodrugs, biodistribution, toxicity and therapeutic actions in pathology models”, within the project of the Biotechnology Applied to Health area entitled “Development of tools for diagnosis, prognosis and advanced or tardeted therapies in personalized medicine” . This project is part of the Complementary Plans financed with funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
